Teaching your children to stay healthy all year round

Making your child practice good hygiene at home as well as outside is very important in ensuring their good health, where viruses can easily come into contact. Here are some ways you can help your children stay healthy!
It can be very difficult for children to comprehend how a virus, which is invisible, can transmit from body to body and make it sick. To help the little ones visualize, take some hand sanitizer and mix it with glitter and then rub some on your palm. Now explain to them that the glitter represents germs. Then, shake your hand with them and have them see how the glitter can get transferred to their palm. After that, show how germs can pass onto surfaces by picking up and touching things in the house, such as doorknobs, pencils, chairs, and the like. You can also make use of household items to demonstrate how germs spread from sneezes and coughs.
Teach hygiene in a fun way:
Teach your children about the importance of good hygiene, and make the process fun! Speak to them about the importance of washing hands, particularly after and before meals and when going to the restroom. Then, wash hands with your children to show them the right way to do it. A good way of teaching them how long to wash is to make them sing the whole “Happy Birthday” song.
Make shots less painful for children
Most of the children are not big fans of getting shots. However, there are several ways of making the trip to the child specialist less painful if you decide to get your little one vaccinated against a flu. By distracting the little one with an activity or game helps, and anxious children can benefit from having a doctor apply topical anesthetic to reduce pain. It is also very important to speak to your children in advance of the shot if they are nervous about it and never lie and tell them that it will not hurt at all. In fact, be very realistic and tell them that you will be with them through it. You can also promise them a treat after the shot.
Young children are predominantly susceptible to influenza, which sends about 20,000 children, lower that age 5, to medical facilities due to flu-related complications. By teaching your little ones basic hygiene and making sure they are properly vaccinated you can ensure that they enjoy good health all year round. In fact, you can make hygiene a subject during your homeschooling session, teaching about diseases and how to prevent them.
